We are indebted to the countless individuals and organisations who devote their time, energy, and resources to uplift those we support. Today, we shine a spotlight on one such inspirational figure James Hiley-Jones, Managing Director, Greenclose Hotels, whose commitment to HA has touched countless lives.
What do you believe sets Hospitality Action apart from other industry charities?
Hospitality Action are all encompassing and by that I mean they cover everything from mental health to financial strain. They are really resourceful with their donations and their wide range of fundraising initiatives make them incredibly easy to support and get behind.
How does supporting Hospitality Action align with Greenclose’s values and goals?
Greenclose pillars are to be thoughtful, welcoming and connected. Hospitality Action helps employees feel that they have a sense of belonging and someone to turn to in times of need. This is so important for people to feel a sense of connection and we encourage our team members to look after not only our guests, but their colleagues too. Greenclose take a proactive approach to the wellbeing and care of their team members which falls squarely in line with what Hospitality Action is there to provide.
How have you supported Hospitality Action?
I have supported Hospitality Action for many years and have taken part in various events such as Back to the Floor, Bike to Care and the Summer Challenge. As a group we are always happy to support these events in whatever way we can, whether it is a complimentary stay for a silent auction or by physically participating and raising funds. Every single room that we sell we donate £1 to Hospitality Action across the group.
Have customers enjoyed seeing Invisible Chips on the menu?
I think guests see the benefit of including Invisible Chips on the menu, they appreciate what a tough industry hospitality is, especially now and there is much more awareness and understanding around mental health of hospitality employees and the pressures they are under.
What do you think are some of the best features of our Employee Assistance Programme?
I think it is a great service allowing employees to access a range of information and advice that they might otherwise struggle to access. Hospitality Action's EAP is far reaching and incredibly well connected and offers cutting edge, relevant advice to anyone that reaches out.
Can you share a memorable moment or experience you've had while supporting Hospitality Action?
I’ve had the great pleasure of serving at three Back to the Floor events. What an extremely competitive bunch hoteliers are but always with a smile and great sense of fun! I’ve also cycled all three Bike to Care events and thoroughly enjoyed fairly tough rides through France’s most famous vineyards. Are you allowed to have this much fun when fundraising?!
Heartfelt thanks to James and the entire team at Greenclose Hotels for their dedicated support. If your place of work can do the same, please get in touch.
