October 5, 2022 | Author: Sophie Stevens

On Monday a fabulous team of remarkable chefs cooked up a storm for a fundraising dinner at Grantley Hall in aid of Hospitality Action and raised an incredible £37,000 to support those in the industry who have fallen on hard times.

Guests were treated to a Champagne reception kindly sponsored by Firth & Co, before tucking into a fabulous recreation of the 2009 Great British Menu winning banqueting meal.

Heartfelt thanks to:

Chef Kenny Atkinson, of Michelin starred House of Tides, for delivering an absolutely beautiful Starter; Salad of Aberdeen Angus beef, carrots, horseradish and Shetland black potatoes.

Chef Glynn Purnell, of Michelin starred Purnell’s Restaurant, for treating us to a super tasty Fish Course; Masala spiced monkfish with red lentils, pickled carrots and coconut.

Chef Nigel Haworth, of The Three Fishes, for his mouth -watering Main Course; Lonk lamb Lancashire hotpot, pickled red cabbage, carrots and leeks.

Chef Shaun Rankin, of Michelin starred Shaun Rankin at Grantley Hall, for completing the evening’s culinary experience with a delicious Dessert; Treacle tart with Jersey clotted cream and raspberry ripple coulis

The Grantley Hall team including GM Andrew McPherson; for donating our star prize of a three nights stay at Grantley Hall with dinner at each of their restaurants which raised a staggering £4,000, the chefs and the Events, Conference and Banqueting teams for going above and beyond in creating the most spectacular experience for dinner guests.

Thanks to Corney & Barrow, Hallgarten & Novum and North Brewing Co for providing the beverages. Delifresh, Farmison & Co and Wellocks for sponsoring the course ingredients.

Finally, many thanks to all our guests who participated in the evening’s fundraising; our prize draw as well as silent and live auctions. As a charity we couldn’t do our work without you, and we can assure you that every penny that was raised will be spent very wisely helping thousands of hospitality households facing extreme food and fuel poverty and poor mental health, associated with the increase in living costs crisis.

Keep an eye on our events calendar to see what events we have coming up near you. Or, if you’d like to host an event of your own to raise much needed funds for hospitality families in crisis, please get in touch.
